Vivian Kirkbride was raised in Renton, Washington, where her love for literature began to take root. She received her Associate in Atrs & Science Degree at Everett, Washington, and continued her studies at Seattle University, and UCLA.
Her hobbies are hiking, photography and art. She is married with three children, and lives in Texas.
Break Away, Vivian’s third novel, is one woman’s dramatic story about escaping domestic violence. The unique aspect of Break Away, is that suggestions on how to escape are woven through the pages of this suspenseful novel.
Vivian’s second novel, Vantha’s Whisper, is Saoran Pol La Tour’s extraordinary story of surviving the Killing Fields of Cambodia. Vantha’s Whisper was awarded Runner-Up in non-fiction in the DIY Book Festival of 2004, and in 2006 received the Legacy Award from Writer’s Notebook. Vantha’s Whisper has been used as required reading in A history class for a High School in Montana.
Vivian’s first novel, A View from the Buffalo Tree, is a story of one woman’s triumph over childhood sexual abuse.
Vivian has taught Write Your Life Story classes, published poetry and articles. She has been a Guest Speaker on domestic violence, on KLAY 1180, Intervention Radio. As a Competent Toastmaster, she has given many speeches on writing, and is passionate about stopping domestic abuse.
