L&L Dreamspell doesn't charge you any money to publish your manuscript! You shouldn't have to pay someone a ridiculous fee to publish your books... That's known as "subsidy" and we are NOT a subsidy or a "vanity" press -we are a micro-publishing company looking for new talent to join us -we hope you will consider submitting soon...

WHAT ABOUT MONEY?

IMPORTANT NEWS!

L&L Dreamspell is now paying Advances - even to brand new authors! From $100 to $250, depending on the book's length and author's experience. We're also paying from $25 to $50 advances for short stories in our anthologies, depending on the number of stories in each book.

Once you're book has earned royalties past the advance, L&L Dreamspell authors receive 15% on Printed Book sales, and 40% on Electronic Books!

We send out quarterly statements - the royalty percentage is based on the "net" sales price of each Book and Electronic Book sold. What does this mean in actual dollars? See the sample contract HERE for more information.

WHAT ABOUT CONTRACTS? Authors chosen for L&L Dreamspell are part of an exciting team - we'll work with you to get your books noticed in the vast assortment of media available to readers. You're books/stories will be made available in Trade Paperback Sized Print (5.5 x 8.5) and also in the new Electronic Book download format. The L&L Dreamspell publishers put in a lot of time getting your manuscript/story ready to sell - providing professional typesetting, proof editing, and a custom cover. With all this effort involved we have to ask for a reasonable commitment to us in our publishing contract!

WHAT ABOUT MARKETING? L&L Dreamspell sends out review copies of your book to major reviewers, and it's listed in "Books in Print" and immediately available for order. There's a lot of competition, especially for fiction - this means it's always an uphill road to stardom! L&L Dreamspell puts together a Press Announcement and Promotion Kit for all their authors - we'll help you get started... We'd love to send you around the world on a thrilling book tour - but instead we'll send your book around the "world wide web"... You'll get a red-hot personal author page here on the L&L Dreamspell site and be able to receive fan mail. You can also link your own website from here - if you have one. Book promotion is a do-it-yourself job, even if you're published by one of those "big names" on the east coast...

WHAT ABOUT BOOKSIGNINGS? It's exciting to autograph your books...and L&L Dreamspell wants you to enjoy the fruits of your labor by getting out and meeting your fans. Use your Press Announcements to start getting noticed! Book promotion is a do-it-youself job and authors with all publishing houses have to participate in promoting their own books... Our experienced author team is always eager to answer questions for new L&L Dreamspell authors - you'll be on our private discussion forum once you've joined us!

WILL I HAVE A CUSTOM BOOK COVER DESIGN? L&L Dreamspell creates a unique, exciting book cover just for you! We'll do what we can to make sure you're happy with the results. We can create just about anything. If your story is chosen for one of our anthologies the cover you see now is the actual book cover. Your name will appear on the back, and you'll have a short biography inside, including a website address so your fans know where to reach you!

DO I HAVE INPUT BEFORE IT'S PRINTED? No book goes to press without the author's final approval. Just like with the Cover Design process you'll be sent the text block file for a final review.

HOW DO I SUBMIT? If you haven't already read the Publishing Gateway page click HERE for the genre list and submission guidelines. Next study the Format Guide by clicking HERE - you'll have a much better chance of selling us your manuscript or story and joining our author team if you send us exactly what we want to see, and make sure your work is the best it can be!

WHEN WILL I BECOME RICH AND FAMOUS? That's entirely up to you! Every publishing company, whether large, medium or small, expects the book's author to go out and self-promote. Some even require you to provide a complete marketing plan before they'll even consider your submission! When you're our "Chosen One" L&L Dreamspell gets your book in print, makes it available through book stores, on Amazon and other on-line sites, then gives you a Press Announcement to help you get noticed. You'll be showcased with a full page in our Author section, and can receive fan mail! L&L Dreamspell supplies you with your books at a discount so you'll earn even more money on the copies you sell in person and through booksignings. We'll keep you updated on new marketing opportunities - if your books don't sell then we don't make money either! It's always an uphill pathway to stardom, especially with fiction, but it CAN be accomplished. Set your goals high and never give up on your dreams!

If you'd rather give it a try with a major New York publisher...

The sad truth is that most authors published by the major companies don't see their books printed for one to two years - then IF the books are put into stores they stay on the shelves for only a FEW WEEKS! Most books end up "remaindered"--sold for pennies--and that's IT for all your blood, sweat and tears...all the hours you spent crafting your unique book/story... With around 200,000 books published every year there isn't room on bookstore shelves for everyone... Also most of the publicity goes to the major authors, those "big names" your're familiar with--and the rest just get ignored...
