Peggy Ehrhart was born in Nashville, Tennessee, but raised in Los Angeles, CA - she now lives in Leonia, New Jersey.
Peggy was an aspiring mystery writer as a child and won her first writing contest in the third grade. Her academic credits include a PhD in Medieval literature from the University of Illinois. She taught English on the college level for many years, authored numerous scholarly articles, and wrote a prize-winning book on the classical tradition in the Middle Ages.
In 1989 Peggy returned to her earlier aspirations by writing her first mystery novel, then went on to publish award-winning mystery fiction in numerous print and on-line versions. She took up music, pursuing guitar lessons. For five years she was the bandleader of "The Last Stand Band" - a rock and blues band in the New York-New Jersey area. Her experiences inspired her new blues mystery novel "Sweet Man is Gone."
Peggy serves on the board of the New York Chapter of Mystery Writers of America and is treasurer of the New York/Tri State Chapter of Sisters in Crime.
