ABOUT THE AUTHOR Nan Higginson, winner of the Phyllis Whitney Creative Writing Award, edited and contributed to several anthologies published by the Middle Country Library. As a journalist, she freelanced for Newsday and local publications. Higginson taught literary arts (including journalism) and social studies for twenty four years.
