About the Author

Loretta loves to say "I'm a southern gal, born in the north - but I got here as fast as I could!"

She moved to the southern states as a child, and memories from her youth of warm, sultry summer nights and fragrances of honeysuckle and gardenias influence her writing today.

Loretta dabbled in writing for many years, putting thoughts and ideas onto paper for later development. Her serious writing began in 1998 - she had a story premise that drew her to New Orleans for research.

Her quest led her through the French Quarter, then to a B&B called the Victoria Inn and Gardens, and later to Laura's Plantation. She's currently completing her novel "The Midnight Dance" set in 1800's New Orleans.

Loretta's story "Dark Pleasures" is featured in the anthology "A Death in Texas"

Loretta was a member of the Romance Writers of Australia, during the years she lived in "Oz" - as she likes to call Australia!

She is currently the secretary of The Final Twist - the Houston chapter of the Sisters in Crime organization.
