ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Elizabeth Zelvin is a life-long writer who earned honors in English at Brandeis University, graduating magna cum laude. After a brief stint in advertising she joined the Peace Corps and spent two years in Cote de Ivoire, West Africa, where she taught English to French-speaking students. On her return she found a job in publishing, hoping it would fuel her literary career. While she edited accounting textbooks and audiovisual materials on medical terminology, she began writing poetry. Her work appeared in numerous journals and was published in two books. She received a CAPS award in poetry from New York State Council on the Arts.

Liz returned to school for a master's degree in social work from Columbia University and a credential in alcoholism counseling. Her work took her many places, from the Bowery to prestigious treatment centers where she trained and taught social workers and addiction professionals. Her writings on addictions, codependency, adult children of alcoholics, and women's issues were published in professional journals and as book chapters. In 2000 she launched an on-line therapy website, while at the same time writing her first mystery novel "Death Will Get You Sober" - and she's working on two more novels in the series. Liz is a active member of Sisters in Crime and Mystery Writers of America, and also DorothyL and Murder Must Advertise.
