Catherine A. Winn is a former elementary teacher living, gardening, blogging, and writing in Texas. After graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Art Education from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas, she taught art for seven years then went back for her elementary endorsement. For the next twenty-seven years she taught third grade using art to enrich all subjects. She also wrote stories to aid in teaching but never tried to publish even though she had a dream to one day be a writer.
After retiring in 2003, she moved to San Antonio where she began to write seriously for all ages, attend writing conferences, and joined critique groups. She is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators as well as Sisters in Crime. 
Being an avid reader of mysteries since childhood, she has found that genre to be her main interest. She has completed two mystery novels for children and is presently working on a Young Adult thriller. Her stories have appeared in the online magazine Stories for Children and her crafts have appeared in Pack-o-Fun.
